A community-based research initiative with the descendants of O’odham, Yoeme, and other lower Colorado River region Indigenous communities.
About the Project
This project is a community-based research initiative developed in collaboration with the descendants of O’odham, Yoeme, and other Indigenous communities of the lower Colorado River region. The work focuses on documenting and revitalizing the rich cultural histories, languages, and traditional ecological knowledge of the region. Through oral histories, archival research, and collaborative mapping, the initiative aims to empower the communities in their efforts to preserve their heritage and strengthen their cultural identities in the face of ongoing environmental and social challenges.
